Tournaments and Contests: By mlthmp
I remember when I first became an active member of the Smallball forums. It seemed there was always a tournament being held by trainers, or by clans. I remembered thinking how great it was to have a chance to prove you're one of the best, and have a chance to win a little something while doing so. While there may not be a Monday Mayhem going on at this current time, LCD made his mark on the world of Smallball tournaments. Mayhem rivaled the Official Smallball Tournament, and in my mind was without a doubt the best tournament series ever held. The tournament scene took a big hit, along with the near death of the Official Smallball Chat. However, now it seems there may be life left in the monster yet. With the Smallball Devil's "Devil's night" and PvT's Fight Night, tournaments seem to be on the rise again. Now, with more and more people deciding to hold their own tournaments (chspogo, simon, among others) These few hours of pure smallball fun, are once again starting to become the norm. While prizes range anywhere from DT tickets and teams, to simple stadiums or QTs the main reason these tournaments are held are still the same. To see who is who, and to have a little fun while doing so. With more tournaments being announced every week, more and more new trainers are getting the chance to experience the fun and excitement many of the rest of us took for granted with the likes of Mayhem and the Official Smallball tournaments. While the names may have changed, the fun remains. Long live Smallball, and may there be many tournaments to come!
